The Arizona Cardinals have given up and released star DeAndre Hopkins, and the former Houston Texans wideout's teammate, J.J. Watt, has some words of wisdom here for "Nuk's'' next employer.

"Hop still has the best hands in the league," Watt tweeted.

Watt's opinion might come with a bit of bias' he played with Hopkins both in Houston and then, to close the perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate's career, in Arizona. Watt's opinion also has nothing do with the same cap (the Cardinals were looking to trade Hopkins but failed, so they absorb $22.6 million in dead salary cap money) and Watt's opinion has nothing to do with Hopkins' next contract.

Hopkins is now free to sign with any team, free to find the highest bidder, free to ask for even more than $22.6 million if teams like the Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, Cowboys and the rest are willing to write that check.

But Watt, who recently announced his retirement, has an opinion that deserves to be honored, and we take his tweet as a general endorsement of Hopkins, the pair having something very much in common as two of the handful of greatest Texans ever.

Hopkins last put up gigantic numbers in 2020. His issues in the last two years have been about him having missed games, 11 of them due to injury and six as a result of a PED suspension. And he'll be 31 by the time the NFL season starts, so that is a concern for potential suitors. But can Hopkins still catch a football at a most elite level? Watt swears by it.
