Texans Ex-WR Randall Cobb and QB Aaron Rodgers Reuniting With Jets

As the New York Jets continue to build an offense around new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, they'll be adding former Houston Texans receiver Randall Cobb to the roster.

Former Houston Texans receiver Randall Cobb returned to the Green Bay Packers for two seasons but is once again on the move.

Cobb came to the Texans from the Dallas Cowboys - the team he joined when he left the Packers the first time - but now he'll be leaving that same team again and is headed to the New York Jets on a one-year deal according to ESPN.

Once the addition of Cobb becomes official he'll be the third Packers player to join quarterback Aaron Rodgers with the Jets this offseason.

Previously, receiver Allen Lazard, offensive lineman Billy Turner, and quarterback Tim Boyle were all added to New York's roster before Rodgers was even officially on the team.

Cobb spent one season with Houston during the 2020 season before being traded to Green Bay in a homecoming that made headlines when the receiver said he felt like he was suffocating prior to the move.

"I can breathe again," Cobb told media in a press conference upon his return to the Packers. "It's funny my teammates said, 'You act like you just got out of prison.' I'm very, very, very excited to be here."

In an attempt to backtrack on the disrespectful comments toward the Texans franchise that gave him $18 million, Cobb instead doubled down by describing the organization as a "startup" compared to Green Bay which he called a "Fortune 500 company" at the time.

The Packers finished that regular season 13-4 but fell to just 8-9 last year and now both Rodgers and Cobb are once again on the move.

Cobb amassed 441 yards receiving on 38 receptions in his one year with Houston and failed to reach those numbers in either of his two years back with the Packers.
