Houston Texans WR Tank Dell OUT vs. New Orleans Saints on Sunday

The Houston Texans will be without one of their most dynamic playmakers this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell (concussion) will miss Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints due to his injury, reports indicated on Friday.

Dell sustained his concussion against the Arizona Falcons last Sunday in the first half and has remained out of practice this week. NBC affiliate KPRC in Houston was the first to report the news. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC, Dell is "feeling much better" and the "outlook is fine" for him to suit up against the Carolina Panthers following the bye week.

Earlier this week, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans discussed the impact of not having Dell on the practice field.

“Tank is in the protocol, and we’ll see how he progresses throughout the week,” Ryans told reporters Monday. “Hopefully he starts to feel better. Definitely hurts not having him out there.”

Dell has been one of the most explosive players in the Texans offense this season and has shown a great connection with his quarterback, fellow rookie, C.J. Stroud. In five games for Houston, he has 19 catches for 324 yards and two scores, averaging 17.1 yards per catch.

“Tank is an explosive playmaker for us, but our thoughts [are] with Tank to make sure he gets back healthy as soon as possible,” Ryans said.

Dell is a product of the Houston Cougars, so he didn't have to travel far to begin his NFL career. While in college, he posted career numbers of 3,155 receiving yards and 32 scores.

Kickoff between the Saints and Texans is scheduled for noon CT on Sunday, and the game will be televised on FOX.
