The Houston Texans continue their exhibition schedule on Saturday by hosting the AFC East power Miami Dolphins. It's the second of three preseason games for both squads in anticipation of the regular season, now less than a month away.

The Texans are coming off a 20-9 preseason Week 1 win over the New England Patriots, while the Dolphins lost to the Atlanta Falcons 19-3.

It'll be rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud's second start this preseason, and he'll be looking for a much better outing than a week ago. Stroud went just 2-of-4 for 13 yards and one interception against the Patriots before being relieved for Davis Mills, who performed much better.

Mills completed nine of 12 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown, while Case Keenum threw for 79 yards on 9-of-14 passing with one touchdown.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans announced Thursday that Stroud will be the Texans' starting quarterback for Houston's preseason home opener against the Dolphins. Stroud, who was the Texans' No. 2 overall pick in April's NFL Draft, will start his second consecutive game this preseason.

"All our players will play," Ryans said. "All our players will see time in the game, and that's how we'll go about it. C.J. will go out first, again as he did last week, and we'll judge the game as it goes along."
