In this story:

There are few things more frustrating than staring at the clock in the middle of the night, knowing everyone else in the house is asleep.

Kelly Stafford knows the feeling all too well.

The wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford gave followers a candid glimpse into her latest sleepless night, revealing that she's been struggling with insomnia. But what began as a frustrating update took a surprisingly sweet turn when she shared something she'd found while awake.

And it involved her husband and one of their four daughters.

Kelly Stafford Opens Up About Sleepless Nights

Kelly didn't need a lengthy explanation to convey how she was feeling.

In an Instagram Story shared over the weekend, the 37-year-old posted a nearly black photograph with a timestamp showing 3:04 a.m.

"Insomnia sucks," she wrote.

It was a short, unfiltered admission about something that can be difficult to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it. While insomnia can involve trouble falling asleep, staying asleep or getting restful sleep, Kelly didn't elaborate on how long she'd been dealing with the issue or whether she was receiving treatment.

She did, however, share a second update that offered a welcome change of mood.

While looking through old photos, Kelly came across a picture of Matthew holding their youngest daughter, Tyler, when she was much smaller.

In the photograph, the Rams quarterback is smiling at the camera while holding his little girl, who is wearing a colorful outfit with a bright orange bow in her hair.

"But what doesn't suck is what you find when you have insomnia," Kelly wrote over the picture, adding emotional emojis.

The contrast between the two posts was hard to miss. One captured the frustration of being awake at 3 a.m. The other showed how an ordinary family memory could make an otherwise difficult night feel a little better.

Kelly and Matthew Stafford Put Family First Amid Busy NFL Season

The sweet throwback offered another glimpse into the family life Kelly regularly shares with her followers.

She and Matthew, who married in 2015 after meeting at the University of Georgia, are parents to four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 9, Hunter, 8, and Tyler, 6.

Between raising their children, traveling for games and navigating another demanding NFL season, the Staffords have plenty going on away from the field.

Kelly has been open about the less glamorous side of life in the NFL, including the stress of managing family responsibilities during football season. She's also spoken candidly about the importance of protecting her well-being while balancing motherhood and her public-facing career.

In a recent interview with People, Kelly emphasized that despite Matthew's high-profile job, their household revolves around their daughters and the routines that keep their family connected.

That perspective made her latest Instagram posts particularly touching.

There was no elaborate announcement or carefully staged family portrait. Just a mother awake far too early, scrolling through her camera roll and finding a reminder of how quickly her children are growing up.

It didn't solve her sleepless night, but it gave her something to smile about.
