Bahrain GP Results: Daniel Ricciardo Goes Fastest In FP1

Daniel Ricciardo put in the fastest time during the first free practice session ahead of the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix.
Following the VCARB driver were Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri who put in the second and third fastest times, respectively.
Zhou Guanyu ran into trouble almost instantly as he reported to the Sauber team that his brakes were not working. The Chinese driver returned to the pits so the engineers could sort the issue. However, Guanyu was able to get back out on track but did lose significant time from the first practice session.
Despite topping the time sheets quickly, Max Verstappen was heard complaining of issues with both downshifts and upshifts on the Red Bull RB20.
It is worth noting that the first practice session is not so representative due to it taking place much earlier in the day in comparison to the evening race.
