Charles Leclerc has spoken about the Ferrari upgrades which are coming to the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, explaining that he does not see them being a threat to Red Bull as they continue to dominate the 2023 season.

Ferrari fans have been holding out for the upgrades for the Miami Grand Prix weekend after a less-than-ideal start to the 2023 season. However, the Monegasque driver explained during the drivers' press conference in Miami that although he thinks it will bring more performance to the car he does not see the upgrades being a threat to Red Bull.

When asked if he sees the upgrades taking the Maranello-based squad in the right direction, he explained:

"I don't think it will be enough to fight with them [Red Bull]. But going in the right direction, for sure."

Leclerc also commented on the last-minute changes to the DRS zones saying that he does not think it is the right direction to go. He explained:

"I don’t think it’s the right direction. With the cars we have at the moment it’s still quite difficult to follow. It’s better than the previous generation cars, but still not good enough to actually have less DRS. So hopefully in the future races we won’t shorten [the DRS zones]"

The Miami Grand Prix weekend will be starting with the first two free practice sessions tomorrow. Saturday will host the third free practice session and qualifying ahead of the grand prix on Sunday.

F1 fans will be hoping for some increased performance from Ferrari in order to have some more on-track action.
