The FIA has confirmed that Charles Leclerc's Ferrari SF-23 is undergoing some last-minute changes ahead of the Miami Grand Prix this weekend.

Two separate documents have been released by the stewards confirming the changes to Leclerc's car whilst also confirming that no penalties will be given to the Monegasque driver.

The first change is a new gearbox. The document confirms:

"The gearbox case and cassette used by Charles Leclerc is one of the four new gearbox cases and cassettes allowed for the 2023 Championship season and this is in conformity with Article 29.2 of the 2023 Formula One Sporting Regulations.

"The Following driver [Charles Leclerc] will start the fifth Competition of the 2023 Formula One World Championship with a new gearbox driveline, gear change components and auxiliary components."

The second change is a new motor generator unit-kinetic which is his second of the season. Drivers are allowed four per season so this will also not result in a penalty.

The Ferrari driver put in the third fastest time during the first free practice session in Miami today behind the two Mercedes drivers' George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. Leclerc's teammate Carlos Sainz managed to put in the fifth fastest time.

The second practice session will be taking place shortly ahead of the third and final tomorrow along with qualifying in the afternoon. The first of three US races will take place on Sunday.
