After a long winter break, Ferrari fans finally have some exciting news as the iconic Italian team has announced the name of its 2023 race car. The name of the new challenger, which had been kept under wraps, has been revealed to be the SF-23.
The ‘SF’ in the name stands for Scuderia Ferrari and is a format that has been used by the team since 2015, with the exception of the F1-75 which was used in 2022 to commemorate 75 years since Ferrari’s first production car was released.

Introducing… ✨ SF-23 ✨
Ferrari enters the 2023 season with high expectations and a desire to improve on its performance from the previous year. In 2022, the team saw three grand prix wins from its young and talented driver, Charles Leclerc, and a maiden F1 victory from Carlos Sainz at Silverstone.
Despite these successes, Ferrari's World Championship hopes were derailed by strategy errors, and reliability issues. The team will be hoping to avoid these pitfalls in the coming season.
The team's preparations for the new season have been in full swing in recent days, with the team showcasing a video last week that presented the SF-23 being fired into life for the first time. The video generated a lot of excitement and anticipation among fans who are eager to see the new car in action.
The team has also undergone a change in leadership with the departure of Mattia Binotto at the end of last year and the appointment of Frederic Vasseur as the new Team Principal. Vasseur brings with him a wealth of experience and will be tasked with overseeing operations and leading Ferrari to success in the coming season.
With the launch of the SF-23, the return of Leclerc and Sainz, and the new leadership in place, Ferrari is poised for a strong season and is looking to return to the top of the podium and challenge for the World Championship.
The official launch of the SF-23 will take place on February 14.
