F1 News: When Lewis Hamilton Dropped The Big Ferrari Clue - "Need To Learn Italian"

Long before his unexpected announcement of joining Ferrari next year, Lewis Hamilton hinted at the necessity of learning Italian during a Formula 1 event in Italy, likely around the Italian Grand Prix weekend. Speaking to the audience, he attempted to utter a few words in Italian, albeit not perfectly. Was it the big Ferrari clue he gave fans of the upcoming switch? Nevertheless, with a year left before the transition, Hamilton has sufficient time to fulfil his wish of learning the language.
Ferrari confirmed Hamilton's move to their team for the 2025 Formula One season via a contract announcement last week. Despite longstanding speculations about his potential move, the news still came as a surprise to many, including the Mercedes team.
The seven-time world champion, with a record 103 race wins, will continue with Mercedes for the upcoming season before taking over Carlos Sainz's seat the following year. However, he might have dropped a few hints about his future shift to Ferrari, with one video that has resurfaced on social media of him trying to speak Italian before the Italian fans, most likely during last year's Italian Grand Prix. He said:
"I need to learn Italian, for sure."
Better brush up on the Italian, @LewisHamilton 😉

Hamilton will be positioned alongside Charles Leclerc, who signed a long-term contract extension recently with the Maranello outfit. Ferrari chairman John Elkann, a long-time admirer of Hamilton's talent, sought to bolster the team by having him on board. Despite Hamilton's contract extension with Mercedes, Elkann persisted in pursuing him, and negotiations reportedly intensified towards the end of the year and into January.
Much like his rapport with Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, Hamilton maintains a positive connection with Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur, courtesy of their bond originating from Hamilton's GP2 (now Formula 2) victory in 2006 with the ART team. Having assumed the position last year, Vasseur is committed to driving Ferrari towards championship contention.
