Ranking Nike's 2026 WNBA Rebel Edition Uniforms From Worst to First

The 2026 WNBA season tips off soon, and Nike is celebrating the new season with an annual fresh set of alternate uniforms for each team. On Friday morning, Nike unveiled the 2026 WNBA Nike Rebel Edition uniforms.
Each uniform is designed in collaboration with the league's 15 teams and built on insights from the communities that define them. The uniforms reflect each team's energy, spirit, values, and local influences, bringing emotional connection, cultural authenticity, and a peak expression of each team's identity to the court.
The Rebel Edition uniforms complement existing WNBA Nike Heroine Edition (white) and Explorer Edition (team color) uniforms. Victory Rebel Edition uniforms and a Rebel Fanwear retail collection are available now at nike.com, lockervision.wnba.com, team stores, and select retailers. With all of that covered, we can now rank each of the 15 new uniforms.
15. Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream Rebel Edition jersey channels a city whose influence reaches far beyond basketball. It is meant to signify commitment to progress. We know this because it is almost a direct copy/paste from the Atlanta Hawks' 2023-24 City Connect jersey and its "Lift as we fly" slogan. We need more originality from a team called the Dream, located in such a culturally important city.
14. Chicago Sky
The Chicago Sky Rebel Edition jersey is said to be inspired by Chicago’s toughness, neighborhoods, and heritage. The jersey shifts the story from the sky overhead to the community below, using stripes, stars, and structural details to celebrate grit, resilience, and unmistakable Chicago pride. It's a cool concept, but it feels incomplete. The aerial aspect is obvious, but it fails to land on the ground with its direct connection to the city below.
13. Golden State Valkyries
The Golden State Valkyries Rebel Edition jersey draws on the power of the Valkyrie and the creative edge of the Bay. The design is intended to feel expansive and modern. Unfortunately, the Golden State Warriors have already used almost every Bay Area-inspired design there is over the past decade.
12. Los Angeles Sparks
The Los Angeles Sparks Rebel Edition jersey celebrates what a spark can become: the start of something bigger, brighter, and impossible to ignore. Built around ideas of ignition, hope, and possibility, the design reflects the energy of Los Angeles and a team that continues to turn potential into momentum. The jersey incorporates plenty of symbolism, but misses the mark when shooting for a good-looking jersey that fans will want to wear (or watch on television).
11. Minnesota Lynx
The Minnesota Lynx Rebel Edition jersey leans into the animal at the center of the franchise's identity, translating its agility, stealth, and quiet intensity into a look that feels sharp and predatory. The sleek frame of a lynx inspires its dark tones and details. No major risks, but no major rewards with this uniform. Clean and coherent, but a little unremarkable.
10. Toronto Tempo
The Toronto Tempo Rebel Edition jersey introduces Canada's first WNBA team with a perspective rooted in speed, duality, and confident control. It is clean and exciting, but the CIBC branding is larger than the TEMPO wordmark. Otherwise, this could have been a top-five jersey.
9. Connecticut Sun
The Connecticut Sun Rebel Edition jersey continues the team’s connection to the Mohegan Tribe through the Path of the Sun, a story of life’s journey, resilience, and renewal. Colors, curves, and solar-inspired details bring that sense of movement and rebirth to life in a design that honors heritage. Everything — especially the detailing around the collar and arms — works really well on this jersey. Our only complaint is three lines of "Yale NewHaven Health" drawing attention away from the jersey's beauty.
8. New York Liberty
The New York Liberty Rebel Edition jersey pays tribute to Brooklyn and the visual language of the city's bridges and boroughs. It does a commendable job of coloring outside the lines, without sacrificing team identity. Also, the Liberty Mutual ad is a rare win for sponsorship patches.
7. Washington Mystics
The Washington Mystics Rebel Edition jersey tells a story of movement, progress, and the people who keep the city in motion. It is obviously a nod to our nation's capital, but with references to the U Street Corridor and surrounding neighborhoods. The goal was to keep pushing the city forward, and the jersey does just that.
6. Seattle Storm
The Seattle Storm Rebel Edition jersey is inspired by storm systems, layered skies, and the raven's ominous grace. The black and green jersey is overall pretty minimalist, but the jagged piping on the lateral sides of the uniform adds just the right amount of flair.
5. Portland Fire
The Portland Fire Rebel Edition jersey draws on the city's long relationship with roses through a darker, more modern lens. We would usually deduct points for the Chime logo appearing in green, but even that works with the floral theme. Overall, an incredible alternate jersey for the new franchise.
4. Phoenix Mercury
The Phoenix Mercury Rebel Edition jersey channels the fire inside the franchise and the city it represents. It uses radiant energy and heat-driven color to express the intensity of the organization. The Mercury benefits from an awesome color scheme, and "PHX" is one of the few city acronyms that makes sense on a jersey.
3. Dallas Wings
The Dallas Wings Rebel Edition jersey is a nod to the Dallas Diamonds and the city, which made today's Wings possible. It is also remarkably similar to the Dallas Mavericks 2022-23 City Connect jerseys. Luckily, both jerseys look good on and off the court. It helps that the Albert and CVS branding don't overshadow the Dallas wordmark.
2. Las Vegas Aces
The Las Vegas Aces Rebel Edition jersey draws on the spirit of spectacle and bold self-belief, positioning the Aces as a dynasty with deep roots in the city. The classic Las Vegas font is perfection, and the colors are reminiscent of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels. If not for the giant IPSY and Ally branding, this jersey would be the best in class this year.
1. Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever Rebel Edition jersey is reflective of the swagger, intensity, and competitive edge of a franchise determined to define a new era of basketball in Indianapolis. The deeply saturated red with swoopy white font and gold details already makes it an aesthetically pleasing jersey. But the little basketball (a nod to the team's primary logo) and minimal ad patches put it over the top as the best Rebel Edition jersey this year.
