The energy sparked a furocious comback for the Golden Flashes in the first game.
Trailing 5-0 in the fourth inning, Kent State cut the deficit to 5-3. Ashlyn Porter, Gabby Quinn, and Ciara Comacho loaded the bases on three singles. Porter scored on a wild pitch, Alex Trevena drove in Quinn on a ground out and then Brooke Aberle scored Comacho with a sacrifice fly.
Bowling Green got one back in the fifth to make it 6-3.
The home half of the sixth was magical. Quinn led off with a solo home run to left center, Comacho drew a walk moved to third on sacrifice bunts from Trevena and Aberle. A walk to Aaralyn Nogay with the bases loaded, pull Kent State within one.

Kent State broke through in the bottom of the sixth when Aberle singled and Brynn Libler followed with a double to put runners on second and third. Shaulis delivered once again, with a sacrifice fly to give the Golden Flashes a 1-0 lead.
