Friday

Game 1 – Virginia Tech 5 vs. Belmont 0

Emma Lemley pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine Belmont Bruins in a shutout win for the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Maya Johnson took the loss, allowing five earned runs on five hits and one walk. She struck out six.

Game 2 – Alabama 8, Jackson State 0

The Alabama Crimson Tide held the Jackson State Tigers to one hit in a five-inning run-rule at Rhoads Stadium.

After two scoreless innings, the Crimson Tide broke through for four runs in the third, two in the fourth and two more in the fifth to end the night early.

Emily Winstead earned the win, allowing the one hit in 4.0 innings of work. She walked one and struck out four.

Saturday

Game 3 – Virginia Tech 3, Alabama 4

Virginia Tech may have scored first in the game to go up 2-0, but Alabama continued to rally back.

Timely base running from the Crimson Tide in the bottom of the second inning eventually put Alabama in the lead as senior infielder Brooke Ellestad started the scoring off a wild pitch from Emma Mazzerone, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Alabama then took the lead thanks to a home run in the bottom of the third inning from senior infielder Kali Heivilin and added one more run in the fourth.

Kylie Aldridge hit a solo home run to bring the Hokies back within one run in the top of the fifth inning.

Alabama now moves into Sunday's final and Virginia Tech awaits the winner of Belmont and Jackson State.

Game 4 – Belmont 2, Jackson State 1

The Belmont Bruins won their first NCAA Tournament game in program history, escaping a bases-loaded jam in the seventh inning.

The Bruins' pitching staff of junior Ellie Giles and sophomore Mackenzie Willis combined for eight strikeouts, four walks, and only gave up one earned run.

Rylee Spindler led the Bruins with two hits and a run scored while Nicole Hughes and Brenna Blume each drove in a run.

Game 5 – Belmont 1, Virginia Tech 11

Belmont's postseason came to an end as Virginia Tech blasted five home runs en route to a run-rule victory in six innings.

Virginia Tech freshman Jordan Lynch went 3-for-4 on the day with a double and two home runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Junior Sophie Kleiman went the distance for the Hokies, throwing all five innings, giving up three hits on four walks and two strikeouts.

With the win, Virginia Tech advances to the Regional final, setting up a rematch with Alabama. The Hokies need to defeat the Crimson Tide twice to advance to the Super Regionals.

Sunday

Game 6 – Alabama 3, Virginia Tech 2

Alabama used a three-run fifth inning and staved off a late seventh-inning rally from Virginia Tech to clinch a Super Regional berth and a trip to Norman, Oklahoma.

A bases-loaded walk to Audrey Vandagriff gave Alabama a 1-0 lead. Lauren Johnson followed with a single to center, scoring two runs.

Rachel Castine cut the deficit to 3-2 with a two-run home run but Jocelyn Briski struck out Cori McMillan and got Jordan Lynch to foul out to catcher Marlie Giles to end the game.
