Sunderland host Watford in the Championship on Wednesday night, with the Black Cats looking to close the gap on the top two.

Sunderland returned to winning ways last time out, beating Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at Hillsborough after suffering defeat vs Cardiff City in the outing before.

Tony Mowbray's side are now up in 4th place of the Championship table but still six points behind Ipswich Town in 2nd, and eight points behind leaders Leicester City.

Watford are struggling under Valerien Ismael. The former Barnsley and West Brom boss has seen his side take just nine points from the opening nine games, with his side having lost their last two now.

Who are the match officials for this one?

Andy Davies is the man in the middle on Wednesday. He's an experienced Championship referee but he's mostly been overseeing lower league games this season.

He's refereed Sunderland on five occasions with the Black Cats winning just once under his watch; last time Davies oversaw a Sunderland game was in November last year, with Cardiff City winning 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.

Graham Kane and Carl Fitch-Jackson are the assistants, whilst Simon Mather is the Fourth Official.
