The January transfer window is quickly approaching, and it could be a worrying month for Sunderland.

The Black Cats are eyeing up promotion to the Premier League.

Tony Mowbray will be desperate to keep his team intact after the winter transfer window but with the Black Cats performing well, there'll no doubt be interest in players.

Here we look at five Sunderland players who could be on Premier League teams' radars in the New Year...

Jack Clarke

Clarke is an obvious inclusion on this list. The wing wizard is enjoying a strong season with seven goals in 11 Championship outings so far, with recent reports linking Brentford with a possible January swoop.

Dan Neil

Neil is another one who's enjoying a good 2023/24 season in the Championship. He seems less obvious than Clarke to attract January interest but the 21-year-old did have interest from the likes of Liverpool in the summer.

Anthony Patterson

Sunderland shot-stopper Patterson has recently penned a new deal with the club, but that won't stop top flight sides from taking an interest. The likes of Leicester City and Wolves have been linked this year.

Dan Ballard

Ballard has proved his worth this season, after a tough maiden season with injury. He had strong interest from West Ham in the summer but is another who's since penned a new deal at the club. Still, Premier League vultures could come in for the 24-year-old, with Burnley recently linked.

Jobe Bellingham

The summer signing from Birmingham City has impressed so far; so much so that Real Madrid have reportedly scouted him. If Madrid are interested, then that could well mean that Premier League teams are keeping a close eye on the 18-year-old.
