Amad Diallo: 'I will support Sunderland for the rest of my life'

Amad Diallo has declared himself a Sunderland fan ‘for the rest of his life’ after his loan spell ended with play-offs defeat at Luton.
The Ivorian enjoyed an incredible season on-loan from Manchester United, scoring 14 goals and producing a level that was consistently way above almost every other player in the Championship.
He was unable to produce a big finish as Sunderland lost 3-2 on aggregate to the Hatters, but it’s fair too say that the Wearsiders have left a big impression on him.
“I know you are sad, we all are,” Amad wrote on Twitter. “A group of young guys who fought until the last minute, I can only be proud to have been part of this team.
“No regrets, just proud of what each of us has become over the course of the season. Thank you for the love. Ha’way the lads.
In a separate post on Instagram, Amad added: “I have loved every moment here in Sunderland.
“I wish you well and will support you for the rest of my life.”
While Amad’s future unquestionably lies away from Sunderland, it is unclear where he will be playing his own football next season.
He will go with Man Utd on their pre-season tour and attempt to earn a spot in Erik Ten Hag’s squad although he has been tipped for a move a abroad my Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray.
