Sunderland join race to sign Crystal Palace youngster

Sunderland have been linked with Crystal Palace's young winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.
Alan Nixon has revealed on his Patreon this morning that Sunderland have joined the race to sign Rak-Sakyi, 20, on loan from Premier League outfit Palace.
The Englishman spent time on loan at Charlton Athletic last season. He was eventually named as the club's Player of the Season after netting 14 goals and assisting eight more across the League One campaign.
He's since been linked with a number of Championship clubs as Palace weigh up his next move, with the likes of Ipswich Town having been mentioned throughout the summer transfer window.
But Nixon is now saying that Sunderland have joined the race for his signature.
The Black Cats have started the season slowly but they got their first win of the season yesterday, beating Rotherham United 2-1 at the Stadium of Light courtesy of two goals from summer signing Jobe Bellingham.
A good signing?
Sunderland have some good players in Rak-Sakyi's position already, in names like Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts.
But Tony Mowbray perhaps lacks some depth in those areas and so an addition of someone like Rak-Sakyi would be a very welcome one.
He shone in League One last time round and now a Championship loan move looks like it'd be the next best thing for his progression, but with so many teams interested, signing him won't be easy.
Mowbray had Amad Diallo last time round though, and after seeing how well he did, Palace will surely view Sunderland as a good potential destination for Rak-Sakyi shod they eventually loan him out this summer.
