Sunderland-linked midfielder Jobe Bellingham has apparently been spotted at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland took on Luton Town in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-finals today.

And Tony Mowbray's side won the game 2-1 thanks to another wonder striker from Amad Diallo, followed up by a second half header from Trai Hume.

Sunderland go into the second leg at Kenilworth Road with the advantage and with the momentum after a solid performance today, and the performance may well have been in front of Bellingham.

A report from BirminghamLive says that the Birmingham City man was spotted at the Stadium of Light ahead of today's game.

It comes after the 17-year-old was recently linked with a summer move to the Stadium of Light.

A report from Daily Mail at the start of this month said that the Black Cats were making a pitch to sign Bellingham ahead of the summer, with the Blues youngster requiring a compensation fee of just £300,000 should he be snapped up on the summer.

Bellingham - younger brother of England and Borussia Dortmund star Jude - made his Championship debut for Birmingham City last season. He's since racked up 22 league appearances this season and has been linked with some big European clubs throughout the season, including Dortmund.

Sunderland closing in?

The report claiming that Bellingham was spotted at Sunderland certainly seems credible, and it would certainly suggest that Sunderland have began to make their pitch to the youngster.

Bellingham will surely have been impressed with what he saw today and he'll also be buoyed by the fact that Sunderland are really making strides in the Championship by playing their younger players too.

It's proving to be a really fruitful place for young footballers to thrive and Bellingham could well be the next.
