ESPN Honors Two Clemson NFL Draft Prospects

Clemson should have another strong showing in the NFL Draft at the end of this month. ESPN named two Tigers the best at certain football traits in this draft class.

The 2023 NFL Draft should be a fun experience for Clemson fans. The Tigers should see at least one former Clemson player, Myles Murphy, selected in the first round, while Bryan Bresee, Trenton Simpson, Davis Allen, K.J. Henry, and others should hear their name called during the following rounds.

Ahead of the Draft on April 27th, ESPN handed out superlatives to a group of prospects. Among the many names were two former Clemson standouts: Myles Murphy and Trenton Simpson. Murphy earned "Best Motor" while Simpson was called the "Best second-level blitzer" in the class.

Clemson fans certainly know about Myles Murphy's motor. During his time at Clemson, Murphy tallied 116 tackles from his defensive end position, including 36.0 tackles for a loss. Murphy is an all-around solid player on the defensive line, able to both lock down an edge in the run game and get after the quarterback.

As for Trenton Simpson, an incredible Combine performance - 4.45 in the 40-yard dash - has pole vaulted him up many draft boards. Some experts believe he could be the first off-ball linebacker selected in the NFL Draft.
