NFL Draft: Clemson's Bryan Bresee selected by Saints in the first round

Former Clemson defensive lineman Bryan Bresee is headed to the NFL

Another Clemson defensive lineman is off the board as Bryan Bresee has been selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 29th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Bresee is the second Clemson Tiger to be drafted in a row, with Myles Murphy going to the Bengals with the 28th pick.

Prior to Clemson, Bryan Bresee was the No. 1 overall recruit in the country out of Damascus High School in Maryland. His career got off to a hot start as he was named the ACC's Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Bresee played the first two seasons of his career under defensive coordinator Brent Venables before Venables took the Oklahoma job. He's one of over a dozen former Clemson defensive linemen to play under Venables and be selected in the NFL Draft.

Injuries held Bresee to just 25 games during his three seasons, but his impact was felt when he was on the field, totaling 15.0 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks. NFL Scouts fell in love with Bresee’s size at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds.
