Anthony Edwards is the highest-rated prospect that has ever put on the Bulldogs hoops uniform, and with a seemingly guaranteed spot in the top-3 picks of the NBA Draft lottery next season, It's no secret that he won't be around the Georgia Basketball program for long.

So Georgia fans, it's safe to say if there were ever a time to show up and ride the wave of a decent basketball team, it'd be now. Tom Crean has things moving in the right direction in just his second season as head coach, and his Top-10 recruiting class in 2019 was the first in school history.

In fact, Georgia hoops hadn't cracked the Top-35 in recruiting since the class of 2011 when they signed instate product, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope out of Greenville, Georgia.

Edwards is obviously the highlight of this freshman class, and he's lived up to expectations scoring 18 & 15 points in their exhibition games, then leading the Bulldogs with 24 points on 7-16 from the floor in last night's 91-72 win over Western Carolina, but he's not alone. Sahvir Wheeler, Toumani Camara, Rodney Howard, and Christian Brown all received some run last night.

Most notably, Sahvir Wheeler, who had 19 points on six of seven from the floor, and a team-high seven free throws.

Edwards took over the contest midway through the second half, draining threes on consecutive possessions. Here's a look at his highlights from last night:

Edwards has obviously flashed an elite ability to score the basketball, but his defense lead to a great transition offense last night, with four steals in the contest. Not to mention he showed flashes of being a willing passer, at one point last night he showed more emotion for an assist on a Rodney Howard basket than he did the three-pointer he hit the previous possession.

Georgia's Basketball program is certainly on the rise, but while Anthony Edwards is in the Red & Black, I'd be sure to watch as many games as possible. Everyone says, Dominique Wilkins without hesitation when asked: "Who's the best UGA basketball player?"

All I'm saying is, Anthony Edwards has the potential to change that conversation one day.
