There’s a lot of hype surrounding freshman, Sahvir Wheeler. But, he’s NOT the next J.J. Frazier. Instead, he’s making his own name for himself.

The college basketball world got their first taste of Georgia's freshman point guard, Sahvir Wheeler, on Tuesday night versus Western Carolina.

Wheeler came off the bench for Georgia and ended up playing 29 minutes for the Bulldogs. Wheeler shot 6-for-7 from the field and 7 of 8 from the charity stripe, which was good for 19 points. He also posted 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

A stat line like that could mean a starting spot for Wheeler, very soon.

One of the things that makes Wheeler so unique is his size. He stands at 5'10, some even believe that height is exaggerated, meaning he's probably closer to 5'9. While he is smaller than usual, he still has the ability to dictate and control a game.

Since he came on campus, many have drawn the comparison of Sahvir Wheeler to former Bulldog point guard, J.J. Frazier, due to their similar frames.

However, Sahvir Wheeler shouldn't be tabbed as "J.J. Frazier 2.0". Sahvir Wheeler is Sahvir Wheeler.

While both Frazier and Wheeler have similar sizes, they both dominate in different ways.

When you think of J.J. Frazier, you should think of greatness. Frazier broke all kinds of Georgia basketball records, making him one the program's best players of this decade. Surely, there will be a chance for Wheeler to do the same.

Yes, Frazier had the ability to get to the basket, but he was more known for his outside shot. And yes, Wheeler does have the outside shot, but he's better known for attacking the rim and finding the open shooter. They're both two talented guards with two totally different styles of play.

Sahvir Wheeler is a crafty point guard, and he's as pure of a ball-handler as you can find at the college level already. It's hard to combat Wheeler's ability to change direction quickly, which is how he is able to find open layups at the basket. When his drives bring in the defense, he's able to find shooters like Tyree Crump and Anthony Edwards for open looks.

Wheeler is the definition of a true point guard, which is a valuable thing to have in college basketball. Whether it's his on-ball defense or craftiness on offense, Wheeler finds a way to get it done.

He's going to be a beneficial piece to the Georgia basketball during his tenure. But don't expect him to be the next J.J. Frazier. Instead, let Sahvir Wheeler write his own legacy.
