Braeden Jackson knows he's a work in progress. He views Iowa Football as a program that can help him grow is potential.

"I really enjoy the culture they have there," he told HN. "It doesn't matter if it's athletically, academically or just as a person, everyone there is trying to help you get better.

"Just talking to the players, that's one of the key things that they spoke on. So, I just really enjoyed how it felt like a family there."

The Ankeny (IA) Centennial running back returned to Iowa City for a junior day this past weekend. The Hawkeyes have been recruiting him for awhile.

"They've said that they're interested and that they for sure want to watch me at their camp this summer. They said they really like my film and are happy with the growth I've made since last season. I still have the camps and all of my senior season to play, so we will see how everything works out," he said.

Jackson is the son of former Coe College and NFL running back Fred Jackson. While he could end up at a different position in college, Iowa sees Braeden carrying the ball. It's a program that relies heavily on its rushing attack.

Braeden Jackson complemented Trey Porter, who signed with Northern Illinois in the '24 recruiting class, in the Centennial backfield last season. Jackson rushed for 669 yards (6.6 YPC) and eight touchdowns as a junior. He added 31 receptions for 354 yards and four scores.

In viewing Jackson's junior highlights, you witness a running back with a burst making sharp cuts. While not the biggest ball carrier, he runs downhill and then can get to top speed quickly.

Jackson (5-11, 180) sees himself as a good fit in the Iowa offense with his versatility. He also believes the program, as a whole, suits him.

"Everyone is held to a certain standard, and I really respect that. I really like their strength and conditioning program, and all of the coaches are not only great coaches but also great people," he said.

Iowa State, North Dakota State, South Dakota State and St. Thomas are in touch with Jackson. He doesn't have other visits set up yet.

"I will for sure be back up to Iowa City this spring and summer," he said.

Strong academics will be important to Jackson in making his college choice.

"I would like to study Finance, Marketing or Sports Management as of right now," he said.
