As a prep freshman, Josiah Robinson is just embarking on his football recruiting journey. He continues down that road with the experience of attending this past weekend's Iowa junior day with the positive vibes he received and what he found out about the program.

"Something I enjoyed learning was that some of the best NFL DB recruits come out of the University of Iowa," Robinson told HN. "I like this because it shows how good their defensive back corp is, which can help me throughout my football career."

Robinson (5-10, 165) visited campus with some of his teammates from Lee's Summit North High. He appreciated the logistics of the Hawkeye setup.

"I enjoyed that everything football related is housed in one location, such as the weight room, the indoor practice field, the nutritionist and position film rooms," he said.

Iowa defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Phil Parker did not meet with Robinson one-on-one, but he heard Parker speak to his position group.

"I didn’t have the ability to individually meet with coach Parker. During the group session, he went over what his expectations are of his DBs, which is how to read the offense," Robinson said.

Arkansas became the first program to offer Robinson a scholarship when it did so last week. He's set to camp at Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota this summer.

Robinson impresses during his freshman highlight video. He shines in all three phases of the game, showing good instincts and the quickness to help all around the field.

Academics stand out as a priority for Robinson in the recruiting process. He already knows what field he'd like to study.

"I plan on taking the Arts and Communications path for my post-secondary degree," he said.
