Iowa Soccer's 5-0 record stands out. It ranks behind only '19 (9-0) and '13 (8-0) among the program's best starts during the last 11 years.

"I thought our kids played well," Iowa coach Dave DiIanni told HawkeyeSports.com. "I liked their mentality. It was a tough trip for us coming back from Mississippi on Thursday, so we just wanted them to be able to compete.”

Murphy Takes Down Record

The cross country teams got their season underway Friday with the Hawkeye Invitational at Ashton. Junior Max Murphy took down the men’s 6,000-meter school record by about 13 seconds, finishing in 17:57.7.

We’re definitely in a much better spot than we’ve been in in the past years.”
