Ohio State vs. Indiana: How To Watch, Betting Odds

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Indiana Hoosiers will square off in their season opener Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are ready to embark on another season and get back to the national championship for the first time since 2020.

Their first opponent standing in their way in the Indiana Hoosiers, who were like Colorado: they lost a lot of players to the transfer portal but added a ton of new additions. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles said "it's difficult" to prepare for a team that doesn't have a lot of continuity on tape.

"First game is always like, 'What are you going to get?'" Knowles said Tuesday. "Not only a new season but new people, you better be good at your fundamentals because you don't know what you're going to get."

Indiana will likely trot out quarterback Tayven Jackson, the younger brother of Hoosiers basketball legend, Trayce Jackson-Davis. Head coach Tom Allen has yet to name a starting kicker, let alone who will be under center because he wants to have a "competitive advantage" over the Buckeyes.

Ohio State named its quarterback Tuesday, as the Buckeyes will be rolling out Kyle McCord with the first team. Devin Brown will still play "meaningful snaps" in the game, though.

"That's significant that we have two guys that we feel confident playing in the game," Day said. "This is something that's a little uncharted territory for me, but you just go on what you see every day in practice."
