College Baseball Poll Watching Week 5: Frogs Drop After First Series Loss
The TCU Horned Frogs (14-2, 1-2 Big 12), after a program-best 13-0 start, lost two of three games over the weekend to the Kansas Jayhawks (9-5, 2-1 Big 12). It was the first series loss of the season for TCU. In the Week 5 national baseball polls, the Frogs dropped anywhere from four to seven spots and are now ranked as high as No. 8 and as low as No. 12.

Nationally, Wake Forest (12-3, 1-2 ACC), the preseason number one team, lost two of three to Duke (13-2, 2-1 ACC). As a result, the Demon Deacons fell off of their top perch across all five polls. And the Blue Devils jumped into the Top Ten, and as high as No. 3 in one poll.
With TCU's losses, only two ranked teams remain undefeated - Texas A&M (16-0, 0-0 SEC) and Florida State (14-0, 0-0 ACC).
TCU's midweek opponent this week, Dallas Baptist (13-2, 0-0 CUSA), is ranked in all five polls. Their highest ranking is No. 13 (Perfect Game), and their lowest ranking is No. 20 (Baseball America).
In addition to TCU, two other teams in the Big 12 - Texas and Texas Tech - are also ranked. Several other teams - Kansas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State - are receiving votes in at least one of the three polls that show this category.
