Cam Brown is the newest member of the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Selected in Round 10 (Pick 313), Brown was the final Horned Frog to be taken off the board on Day Two of the MLB Draft.

After being a highly touted prospect at Flower Mound High School, the right-handed pitcher spent three years mastering his craft as a Horned Frog. Seeing only three starts in his Freshman year, Brown went 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA.

His workload would naturally increase the following season, where Brown posted a record of 5-2 and a 4.42 ERA, leading TCU to become Big 12 Champions. Despite faring strong in his sophomore year, he struggled with consistency in 2023. After a harsh outing against Arkansas to start the season, Brown settled down and found his groove. His strongest outing came against Kansas when he threw seven innings, giving up no runs, two hits, and striking out eight Jayhawks.

3-2 in 12 starts, Brown’s 5.20 ERA was not pretty. It was an underwhelming and rocky season for such a promising pitcher.

After a difficult start to the season, Brown was moved to the bullpen, where he would make four appearances in relief. While Brown struggled, he eclipsed 100 career strikeouts for TCU, a massive feat for any pitcher. With 62 punch outs in 55 ⅓ innings pitched, Brown flashed his strikeout ability throughout the season. He also kept opposing hitters to a batting average of .200.
