Frogs in the Pros: Brayden Taylor With A Hot Start in Minor League Career

The Former Frogs 3rd Baseman Begins His MiLB Career With a Smash

Frogs in the Pros: Brayden Taylor Gets Off To A Hot Start in Minor League Career

In only his first Minor League game, Brayden Taylor has already made his presence known on the Charleston Riverdogs roster. Taylor made his debut Thursday against the Carolina Fireflies, in which he went 2-for-5 with a single and a home run to right field as well as a couple of walks. Along with former National Champion, Tre Morgan from LSU, the two set the pace for the offense as the Riverdogs went on to win Thursday's game 17-5.

While he was listed as a shortstop when he was drafted, Taylor played the position he was most comfortable in over at 3rd base in his debut.

Before his debut with the Riverdogs, Taylor played in three games for the Tampa Bay Rays FCL (Florida Complex League) Team. In these complex leagues, young players, especially players that were drafted in 2023, compete against each other to show coaches what they can do. In the end, it’s essentially another tryout. In the three games that Taylor played in before being added to the Charleston Riverdogs roster, he went 2 for 9 with a triple and a double.

If Taylor keeps up his success from his first game with the Riverdogs, it could be sooner than we think that he gets moved up in the Tampa Bay Rays organization.
