Like the rest of Major League Baseball on Thursday, the Baltimore Orioles released their 2024 season schedule.

The O's will open play at home next season on March 28 against the Los Angeles Angels. Every team in baseball is opening up on March 28, which adds interest and intrigue to the sport.

As for how interesting the Orioles matchup is or isn't that day? That all depends on what Shohei Ohtani does in free agency. If the Angels star is still in Los Angeles, that will become a major watch for the nation, if he's gone? Well, it's still Opening Day.

MLB.com also highlighted a few things about the O's schedule:

The Orioles won’t see much of the AL East early on, playing only three of their first 27 games against division foes through April 28. One series to circle on the calendar: From July 26-28, Manny Machado is slated to play only his second series as a visitor at Camden Yards -- and first since 2019 -- when the Padres come to town. The D-backs also come through in May, making their first visit since 2016, in a showdown of two of this season’s most exciting young teams.

The Machado matchup will be fun for O's fans as he starred for Baltimore from 2012-2018. He made four All-Star Games in Baltimore, and won two Gold Glove awards.

It's also interesting to note that the Orioles close out the season next year with six straight road games (@ Yankees and @ Twins), so if the end of the season matters to Baltimore, it will be tough sledding away from home.
