Miami Marlins Unveil 2024 Regular Season Schedule, Opening Day Matchup

The Marlins will open next season at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Angels before taking rare trips to Toronto, Minnesota and Kansas City.

There are still 70 games left in the Miami Marlins' 2023 season, but the 2024 slate just became a lot more real.

MLB has released all 30 teams' schedules for the upcoming season, with the Marlins posting a reveal video Thursday afternoon. The Marlins will host the Pittsburgh Pirates for an Opening Day showdown on March 28, then ride that four-game set directly into a three-game home series against the Los Angeles Angels.

Miami will host a handful of American League clubs at loanDepot park next season, starting with the Angels. From there, the Marlins will face the Cleveland Guardians, Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox.

The Marlins and Red Sox will face off on Independence Day. The White Sox's trip to Miami will be their first since 2016 and third overall in franchise history.

As for their road interleague opponents, the Marlins will play at the New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Houston Astros, Minnesota Twins, Toronot Blue Jays and Rays.

Miami has not played in Kansas City since 2013. The club also hasn't made it to Toronto since 2015 or Minnesota since 2016.

With the Athletics reportedly on the verge of moving to Las Vegas, next year could very well mark the Marlins' final appearance at the Oakland Coliseum. Miami is 6-5 all-time when playing in Oakland, winning a series 2-1 the last time they were there in 2022.

The Marlins are currently on pace to post just their second winning season since 2009, riding a 52-39 record into the All-Star break. Miami's .576 winning percentage would be the best in franchise history – even better than the two World Series years in 1997 and 2003.

According to Tankathon, the Marlins have the fourth most difficult remaining schedule in the league. Two of their division rivals – the Washington Nationals and New York Mets – rank No. 2 and No. 3, though.

The second half of the Marlins' 2023 season starts Friday night on the road against the Baltimore Orioles. First pitch from Camden Yards is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
