Tennessee Volunteers running back Cameron Seldon underwent shoulder surgery earlier this week and will miss the rest of spring practices.

VolQuest's Austin Price reported on Wednesday morning that Tennessee running back Cameron Seldon will miss the remainder of spring practices after undergoing shoulder surgery. The Vols feel confident he will be ready for fall activities, but it appears that his spring and summer will be spent rehabbing from surgery.

Seldon was the No. 141 prospect in the 2023 signing class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He picked the Vols over several other national suitors after a standout high school career in Virginia. He was low on the depth chart during his true freshman season but still managed to find the field in five contests, earning a redshirt as his fifth appearance was in postseason play. Seldon logged 25 carries for 106 yards.

Running back Dylan Sampson will assume the lead role this fall, but with the way Tennessee runs the football, they need two quality running backs to assume the workload. Seldon should be ready for that opportunity this fall, but he'll have some work to do first.
