Arkansas Loses Starter Before Spring Practice Starts

Pittman will have to figure a way to replace All-SEC lineman

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Razorback starting offensive tackle Andrew Chamblee has left the team, according to Trey Biddy of Hawg Sports.

The 6-6, 304 pounder signed with Arkansas out of high school during the 2022 recruiting cycle. He was a 4-star prospect, the No. 2 player in the state of Arkansas and No. 17 offensive tackle in his class. Chamblee was a decorated signee who played in the All-American game as a senior.

Although he redshirted as a true freshman in 2022, Chamblee was thrust into a starting role when Devon Manuel went down to injury during camp. He was one of three Razorback freshmen to be named to the All-SEC team along with Isaiah Satenga at kick returner and Jaylen Braxton at cornerback.

There was no reason given for Chamblee’s departure, per Biddy. The rising redshirt sophomore was expected to compete for a starting role in 2024.

Arkansas signed three transfer offensive linemen out of the portal in Keyshawn Blackstock (Michigan State), Addison Nichols (Tennessee) and Fernando Carmona (San Jose State). All three are projected to compete for starting roles.

SMU transfer center Branson Hickman will be in Fayetteville this weekend, March 8, to begin his official visit.
