Dan Enos May Have Paid Off Again for Hogs in Defensive Line

Razorbacks land commitment from 320-pound transfer from Georgia

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A week after getting a high school quarterback, Dan Enos helped out at another position.

The Razorbacks have an experienced big man coming for the defensive line. Trent Booker's commitment for his bonus year from COVID is definitely a big man after starting at Maryland.

New offensive coordinator Dan Enos is the only Maryland connection on the staff.

He recorded 27 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass deflection this past season for the Terps.

As a recruit in the Class of 2019, Booker was ranked as the No. 52 strongside defensive end prospect in the nation and as the No. 33 overall prospect in the state of Ohio.

After announcing his plan to transfer, Booker had finalists that included Purdue, South Carolina, Ohio State and Texas A&M, in addition to the Razorbacks. He has appeared in 30 career games for the Terrapins.

The Hogs also landed former Maryland walk-on offensive lineman Tommy Varhall at midterm.

"Coach Locks, thanks for believing in this kid from Ohio! You afforded me the opportunity to be a part of a special family. You introduced me to an incredible mentor and helped me earn my Bachelor's Degree in a little over three years! Can't forget the consecutive winning seasons and two bowl championships. Thank you! Special thanks to coach Brian Williams and the Dline room. I can't express how much you all mean to me," Booker said on social media last week.
