'Pooh' Paul Leaves Before Half with Some Injury

Hogs' best linebacker walks off field gingerly late in first half against Ole Miss

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — As if Arkansas didn't have enough problems, redshirt sophomore Chris "Pooh" Paul went down on a routine play near the end of the second quarterback and walked off supported by a couple of training people.

The Razorbacks were having enough problems with an inconsistent offense and Ole Miss having a 17-7 lead in what can only be described as an ugly first half. Paul was the best linebacker on the roster and had a shoulder injury earlier in the year that forced him to miss some action.

He had three tackles in the first half and broke up a pass. Upon looking at replay, Paul came over and helped get an Ole Miss receiver on the ground and there was nothing apparent to a layman of exactly what was injured. It didn't appear to be the shoulder as both arms were up and draped over the trainers as he left the field.

After a slow start, Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart had the offense started and was beginning to find some sort of rhythm against the Hogs' defense that was starting to slow down a little and the lack of depth there may be starting to show a little.

The Hogs came into this game looking to snap a three-game losing streak while Ole Miss was riding high after an emotional win over LSU last week. The defense kept the Rebels' offense in check for most of the first half until starting to wear down in the second quarter.
