Auburn Impresses Top Recruit And His Family

Auburn's junior day goes over well for top prospect

Auburn's consistent recruiting pitch is standing out for one of Georgia's best prep football prospects.

The Tigers are going hard after 2025 Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes offensive tackle Tavaris Dice. He just made his most recent visit to the Plains for junior day.

"The visit was great," Dice said of his latest visit to Auburn. "It's a family visit...I've been here about five times. I'd never been here with my family."

That first look at Auburn is important for those closest to Dice.

"My family finally got to see the culture (at Auburn). They got to see how it is on a daily basis around here. They haven't seen a game day. So, hopefully I can get them down here on one of them (game day visits). We can have a good time down here."

There's also the bond that Dice is building with Auburn's offensive line coach.

"Me and coach Thornton have a tight relationship," Dice said with a smile. "I've been knowing him since he was at Ole Miss. Yeah, I've been knowing coach (Jake) Thornton. Now I'm just now getting a chance to meet coach (Peyton) Cox and coach (Hugh) Freeze.

His latest trip to Auburn was also a chance to enforce Dice's bond with Auburn's staff.

"They've never treated me wrong. I really appreciate everything they do for me."

He has offers from across the country including schools like Georgia, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Missouri, Miami, Louisville, North Carolina State, Duke, Southern California, Maryland, and West Virginia. Dice is not in a hurry to decide with all of his options.

"Could be August (for a decision). Before then. Most likely August before the season starts."

As for official visits, here's what Dice has planned as of today.

"I'll get up to Auburn for sure, Miami, LSU...really everybody that's in my top-eight schools. I really can't think off the top of my head. I'm trying to give everybody a chance, see what they have to offer me."

On Dec. 12, Dice laid out his primary schools including Auburn, LSU, Georgia, North Carolina State, Missouri, Miami, Florida, and Southern California.

Overall, Dice is extremely high on the Tigers. There's not much more that the Auburn staff could do to impress him and his family.
