Auburn Recruiting Top Nebraska Prospect

Auburn recruiting is becoming more national than ever before

Auburn is going after top recruiting targets across the country.

According to 247 Sports, Auburn's 2025 offer list includes 35 scholarships extended to players in Texas, 20 in California, and seven in North Carolina. All three of those states are known for producing top talent so there's that point for offering kids away from the state of Alabama.

How about a prospect from the state of Nebraska?

The Auburn coaching staff, led by tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua, are going after top players no matter the state. Case in point, the Tigers are going after Chase Loftin from Millard (Neb.) South.

Was Loftin surprised by his Auburn offer on Jan. 24?

"I wouldn't say I was really surprised," Loftin said about the offer. "Because I was building a relationship with Auburn's tight end coach who is one of my favorite tight ends coaches out there. Really cool; I like him a ton.

"So, I wouldn't say I was surprised....I guess every offer is a little bit of a surprise...It's like, 'Wow! I can't believe I made it here!' But, I've been building a relationship with Auburn so it wasn't like a total shock."

When asked about schools that are coming after him from outside the traditional Big 10 West footprint, here's the list Loftin gave that also extended him a scholarship.

"I have Texas A&M, Miami, Oklahoma, Penn State, Florida State, Auburn..."

He's not afraid to leave home for school noting that as long as he can get back to see his family on occasion, he's happy to go to a school where he fits in.

As for official visits and a timeline for a decision to figure out where he's going to college, Loftin offered the following.

"Yeah, I plan to take four or five (official visits). I'll probably make my decision in early July or late June."
