Auburn Should Prioritize Recruiting This Georgia Prep Football Program Every Year

One Of Georgia's Best Prep Football Programs Is Loaded With Recruits

Auburn's recruiting efforts are more national than ever before, but there are prep football programs the Tigers must continually mine for talent.

One of those football programs would be Columbus (Ga.) Carver. In 2023, Auburn brought in defensive lineman Darron Reed, Jr. By the end of the recruiting cycle, his 247 ranking would be #181 overall.

That's the norm at a program that's continually one of the best in the Peach State. Head coach Pierre Coffey took the time to go over his current roster and allow me to meet several of his young men on Tuesday. Here's a quick overview of five of many recruits at Carver, and why Auburn needs to be ready to pull the trigger on top prospects that live just over 50 minutes from the Plains.

The 2025 class has multiple prospects including wide receiver Braylon Jakes, the player Carver continually turns to when it needs a big first down or special play. Based on his junior film, it's surprising he does not have any offers yet. That's likely to change soon as college coaches come to Carver to check out Jakes and the overall talent.

In 2026, there's all-around athlete Tristian Givens. He's a full-time tight end for Carver but could end up being a college edge defender. Despite not playing defense until Game 5 this past season, and being a pass-rush specialist only, Givens ended the season with 18 sacks. He has offers from North Carolina, UCF, UConn, Georgia Tech, FAU, Georgia State, Memphis, UMass, and Troy, among others.

Along the offensive line, Parker Pritchett is a prospect that's already garnering top attention. Missouri and Miami are two Power 4 offers to note and they shall not be his last. He has 12 offers overall. Good feet and a great frame stand out from Pritchett's film.

From the class of 2027 comes the largest player from the group. Pritchett is 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, but Terrence Warren III is already 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds. He is now going through his first full year with the Carver program and everyone is excited about his long-term development. He already possesses offers from, "Troy, Appalachian State, UMass, and Georgia State."

An imposing class of 2027 prospect is one of three running backs from Carver gaining recruiting attention. At 6-foot and 225 pounds, Zion Mabry is a bull in the backfield. He also showcases good quickness in the hole and makes defenders miss. Troy and Umass are on the record with offers.

There are over 10 college football recruits playing for Carver this fall. Who knows, as several of them could end up being big-time SEC-level prospects. That's why Auburn should continually recruit Carver High School.
