Auburn has a great prospect coming to the Plains

Auburn recruiting must strike while the iron is hot.

Whenever a 5-star recruit comes to the Plains, that unofficial or official visit must go well. There are not many of these visits, so make them count. That goes for the nation's highest-ranked signal-caller getting ready for five unofficial visits, according to On3.

In order, Julian Lewis will take trips to Alabama (March 8), Georgia (March 14), Auburn (March 16), Colorado (March 22), and Southern California (March 30).

He is a 5-star recruit, no question. That point is a prime reason why the Carrollton (Ga.) High School quarterback will not be easy for Auburn to land, as it has been recently noted here at Auburn Daily. Here's the baseline for where things stand.

At the top, Southern California and Georgia. That's the latest intel. Alabama or Auburn is probably next, with Colorado the wildcard for Lewis.

Again, that's the overall opinion of what's been reported in the recent past. It's also why Auburn absolutely must nail this unofficial visit with Lewis. If not, the Tigers are not even likely to receive an official visit in May or June.

Through his first two seasons as a starter, Max Preps has Lewis with 7,212 yards and 96 touchdown passes. Playing for Carrollton means Lewis is also going against 7A football talent; he's as proven as one can be for a player that's reclassified to 2025 from 2026.
