Three Reasons Auburn Football Fans Should Be Excited About The Latest Commitment
Auburn's 2025 recruiting class just grew by one.
The Tigers need at least two top-notch offensive tackles from the class and Tavaris Dice will fill one of those scholarships. Dice is also open-minded about playing offensive guard if that helps him get on the gridiron faster, too. The Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes recruit is one Tigers should be excited about for three prime reasons.
1) Auburn needs to continually recruit like a big-time program to be a true SEC contender year in and year out.
According to the Rivals team recruiting rankings, the Tigers are #7 overall and hold eight verbal commitments. Dice is a 4-star recruit and holds offers from the likes of Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, Tennessee, Miami, and Duke.
2) Finally, some relief with offensive tackle recruiting.
For years, and for whatever the reason, the Tigers seemingly struggle with landing offensive linemen; that's especially true of top offensive tackles. Adding Dice to a class that already possesses in-state commitment Spencer Dowland, a possible tackle himself, gives the AU coaching staff a little bit of breathing room.
Auburn is still in contention for several other offensive line recruits. Plus, offensive line coach Jake Thornton and the coaching staff can focus on specific prospects they really prefer to bring to the Plains.
3) Landing Dice means he will not play against the Tigers.
It's one thing not to sign the young man in question. It's quite another to play against him. If Dice went with a different SEC program it would mean seeing him line up across from the Auburn defensive line.
That has been happening far too often over the past several years. Auburn is flipping the script and bringing in a very athletic offensive tackle for the class of 2025.
