There may not be a more well-rounded 2025 recruit than the one visiting Auburn today.

Quarterback, running back, receiver, safety, and linebacker are the positions this young man is known to play. His highlight film is a lot of fun to watch, too. After watching the Tigers during spring practice, Eric Winters took a few minutes to discuss where his recruitment stands.

"Really, the whole team seemed like they had a different demeanor towards practice today," Winters said after practice. "They had a different type of energy."

Winters brought up how he likes new defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin's coaching style with the linebackers. As for his thoughts about how hard the AU staff is recruiting him, Winters provides a blunt answer.

"I feel like I'm the top of the top right now. It's special."

As for why Winters likes Auburn and has the Tigers high on his board, he gave another direct answer.

"It's that family feeling you get."

Georgia and Auburn are considered the teams to watch with Winters, with a third and possibly fourth team emerging.

"Miami, their coaches have been recruiting me pretty hard. Tennessee, too."

Winters will be coming back to the Plains sooner than later, as he wants to see Auburn again this spring, possibly for the spring game. He also plans to visit Georgia soon, Tennessee on March 23, and Miami on March 30.

Rivals' #192 prospect in the country is leaning towards playing a safety role in college, possibly the hybrid linebacker/safety role. AU and UGA are both recruiting him for that role. A decision should be coming and rather soon. Winters' college decision should come before his Enterprise (Ala.) High School team's spring game.

As a parting point, he's on the same team as top Auburn edge target Zion Grady. So, does Grady's college decision impact Winters?

"Yes, for sure."
