Takeaways: Auburn sweeps doubleheader over Missouri securing fifth straight SEC series victory

Auburn swept the twin bill against the Missouri Tigers, winning game one 4-0 and game two 7-2.
Auburn pitching was dominant in these two ball games, only allowing nine hits in two ball games to a Missouri team that has been hitting the ball well of late.
This Auburn team is on an absolute tear putting themselves in great position for post-season seeding.
What can we take away from this doubleheader sweep of Missouri?
Chase Allsup SHOVED
Take a bow, Chase Allsup! The sophomore righty flame thrower was on in game one going a career-high seven innings and striking out a career-high seven Missouri hitters. Allsup had the off-speed and heater mix working well, leading to his success in this ball game. He picked up his first win of the season after a dominant performance on the bump. Allsup has always had the stuff he just had to put it together, and just that happened in this ball game. If Allsup can continue this the rest of the season, this team will make a deep run.
Good morning.

Auburn hit five long balls
Auburn hit five homers over the course of these two ball games, which is a lot for a team not known for hitting a ton of bombs. Ware hit two homers, one in each game. Ike Irish hit one in game one. Cooper McMurray and Cole Foster both hit one in game two, giving the Tigers five long balls on the day. On a day where the bats didn't rack up all that many hits, five homers go a long way. Auburn would have won both games if you just counted the runs scored off homers. Good job by the offense, just doing enough on a day where they didn't put up a ton of hits and the pitchers were on fire.

Konner Copeland was outstanding
Konner Copeland went 5.1 innings, only allowing one run, and the run came after he had left the ball game. The lefty struck out five in this outing and picked up his fourth win of the season. Copeland is pitching really well, and that will help the Tigers down the stretch. The Auburn starters went 12.1 innings of one-run six-hit baseball. Standing ovations are in order for Allsup and Copeland. Watch out for the Auburn Tigers, as postseason baseball is coming up soon.
