Auburn was looking to bounce back after dropping back-to-back games and was able to do just that against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs at home this afternoon, winning 68-45.

The Tigers took control early and never gave it up, leading the whole way. They had to hold off a few different runs from Alabama A&M but were able to hold up fine.

What are the biggest takeaways from the game?

Sydney Shaw stepped up

Auburn was without Honesty Scott-Grayson today which meant someone needed to step up.

Sydney Shaw answered that call.

Shaw led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points. She shot 6-13 from the field and 3-6 from 3-point range.

If Shaw can consistently bring that level of production, Auburn will be a much bigger threat offensively.

Taylen Collins is special

Taylen Collins has wasted no time making an impact during her first season with the program.

Collins posted a double-double in this game with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Collins gives Auburn a presence down low that was noticeably missing last season.

Auburn showed improvement from beyond the arch

Auburn shot 5-11 from 3-point range, good for 45.5 percent.

Shaw did account for three of the made shots, but sometimes one hot hand can turn things around.

What's next?

Auburn will be back in action on Thursday night when it hosts the Clemson Tigers at Neville Arena in the first-annual ACC/SEC Challenge. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
