Highly Touted 2024 Big Man Yves Missi Commits to Baylor Bears

Prolific Prep (CA) product is the third top tier prospect from the 2024 class to commit to the Bears.

Elite 2024 center Yves Missi committed to the Baylor Bears Wednesday, another notch in coach Scott Drew's belt for what is already one of the top recruiting classes in the nation.

Missi chose Baylor over Stanford and Big 12 rival Texas and joins a class that already boasts the likes of stars Jason Asemota and Robert Wright.

Although he is a part of the loaded 2024 class, Missi is considering re-classifying to the 2023 class and graduating high school early. In Missi, the Bears are getting a traditional rim protector at 6'11" and 215 pounds with some elite athleticism.

Missi is a force at the rim on both ends of the court and has a litany of post moves. Even playing against some of the best high school basketball competition in America, Missi is continuing to grow in his game, adding a mid-range jump shot to his arsenal in this, his first year at Prolific Prep.

Drew and the Bears hosted Missi on a campus visit in October and Drew also traveled to California to see the big man practice and go over some film.

Drew has had considerable success with African-born players in his Baylor tenure. Being born in Cameroon and emigrating to the United States in 2021, Missi is next in a long line of talented African players including Ekpe Udoh, Flo Thamba, and potential future teammate and fellow Cameroonian Jonathan Tchamwa-Tchatchoua.

The Bears are also still in the sweepstakes for Lake Highlands (TX) guard Tre Johnson, who many outlets view as the No. 1 recruit in the 2024 class.
