Baylor Bears Officially Ink Dawson Pendergrass to Letter of Intent

Baylor Bears football team adds depth on both ends with signing of running back and linebacker Dawson Pendergrass

The Baylor Bears football team inked dual threat athlete Dawson Pendergrass to an official letter of intent on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Wednesday marked the first day of National Signing Day — when players may officially sign with teams, firing off what will likely be very big moments for both players and colleges alike as the day rolls on.

A three-star recruit out of Mineola, Texas, Pendergrass chose Baylor over offers from Air Force, Arkansas, Army, Colorado State, Indiana, Lamar, Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, Sam Houston, Texas Tech and UTSA.

“A fter a very exciting conversation with @CoachDaveAranda and @CoachMateos I am beyond blessed to announce that I have decided to further my academic and football career at @BUFootball,” Pendergrass tweeted on May 12.

At 6-3 and 212 pounds, Pendergrass will likely primarily be used at the running back position when he hits the Waco, Texas campus next season, but he also excels as a linebacker.

“Pendergrass is an impressive small school athlete who can run,” Dave Campbell’s Texas Football official website said about the Baylor commit. “His size and speed combination is intriguing, begging the question about what position fits him best at the next level.”
