Bears Lead Red Raiders 17-3 at Halftime on RB Richard Reese's Two Touchdowns

A complete recap of the Bears first half against the Red Raiders.

The Baylor Bears entered their matchup against the Texas Tech Red Raiders with a 4-3 record, looking to get back to 2-2 in Big 12 play after stumbling out of the gate initially.

However, winning in Jones AT&T Stadium at night games has been historically tough which would not make things easy for the Bears as they hit the road against Texas Tech.

The game started off in a low-scoring affair, as the first two drives were a Bears turnover on downs followed by a Red Raiders turnover on downs, setting the tone for what was to come in the first half.

The Bears would take a 3-0 lead into the second quarter, as John Mayers drilled a 48-yard field goal following an interception. The Red Raiders would tie it up at 3-3 midway through the second quarter on a Trey Wolff 33-yard field goal.

Midway through the first quarter the Bears lost tight end Drake Dabney for the rest of the game with a knee injury, as he was carted off after a 10-yard reception.

However, Baylor finally broke through into the end zone with 3:39 left in the second quarter on a Richard Reese one-yard touchdown run to go ahead 10-3. Following a Red Raider three and out, the Bears went down and took a 17-3 lead on Reese's second touchdown of the half.

The Bears outgained the Red Raiders significantly in the first half, 261 yards to 126 yards. Reese has led the way for the Bears offensively, taking 18 carries for 87 yards and both of Baylor's touchdowns.
