Baylor Rolls in Week 11? Game Predictions vs. Kansas State

The staff of Inside The Bears gives their predictions for the Big 12 battle between the Baylor Bears and Kansas State Wildcats

Last season, Baylor defeated Kansas State 20-10 on the road as the Bears aim to continue a four-game win streak against the Wildcats when they face one anther in a week 11 Big 12 battle on Saturday, Nov. 12 at McLane Stadium.

Earlier this week, we previewed the Kansas State football team as a whole, then also looked at key offensive and defensive players to watch in the showdown between the Bears and Wildcats.

And now, it's time for the Inside The Bears staff to make their way-too-early preseason predictions for Baylor's week 11 home game against Kansas State.

Make sure to stick with InsideTheBears.com as we preview and analyze every opponent on Baylor's schedule for the 2022 football season.

This will be one of the tougher matchups the Bears face all season long, and while I do think the Wildcats are a Big 12 title darkhorse, I think that the Bears are going to eek this one out. If they can slow down Deuce Vaughan, they should be in great shape. Easier said than done of course, but the Bears' defense is a talented one. IF this game was in the Little Apple, my prediction might be different, but I have the Bears in a tight one for now.

At this point, Kansas State has lost its sleeper title and perhaps teetered over toward the “overrated” lane entering Week 1. Too bad the Wildcats aren’t overrated. And while Adrian Martinez struggled at QB for Nebraska, having Colin Klein as his offensive coordinator — and former college star who played the position in a similar manner — helps immensely.

At the end of the preseason, I stated that the Bears would go 10-2 this season. One loss is to BYU. This is the other.

In what's probably one of the tougher games for the Bears this season, lots of things could go wrong for Baylor. But if the Bears' defense can contain the ground game of the Wildcats, that will help. Given that this game is in Waco, I give the edge to the Bears in a close one.

Riding a four-game streak against the Wildcats heading into the week 11 showdown between Baylor and Kansas State, the Bears should roll once again as the team battles another Big 12 foe at McLane Stadium in 2022.

Yes, Kansas State will field a stronger team than in 2021, but it won’t be enough to hang with Baylor coach Dave Aranda and the Bears in this Nov. 12 showdown.

Last season, the Bears went on the road and took down the Kansas State Wildcats in a slugfest of a game, pulling out the 20-10 point victory. As the Bears look to repeat as Big 12 champions, several analysts believe their only contenders are the two Oklahoma schools, but don't sleep on a good Kansas State team.

The Wildcats will give the Bears a scare but Baylor will pull out another narrow victory at home over Kansas State in this one.

Can Baylor's defense slow down Deuce Vaughn? That might be the key to this entire game. Teams that can control the All-American's impact on the game have a good chance to win. Those that can't, well, they're going to struggle.

Baylor is turning over plenty of talent on defense. But, Dave Aranda has made a living out of taking the new and the holdover and making it great on defense.
