4 transfer portal targets for Boise State men’s basketball

In this story:
Boise State head coach Leon Rice will be ready to go shopping when the men’s basketball transfer portal opens on Tuesday.
After wrapping up a disappointing 2025-26 season with a 20-12 overall record, the Broncos must replace all five starters as the program gears up for a move from the Mountain West to the Pac-12.
Here is a look at four potential transfer portal targets for the Broncos.
Shooting guard Liam Campbell (Saint Mary’s)
Would Campbell be interested in a homecoming?
The 6-foot-4 guard was voted 2023-24 Idaho MaxPreps Player of the Year after leading Meridian’s Owyhee High School to the Class 5A state title.
Campbell was rated a four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 104 overall player in the 247Sports class of 2024 composite rankings. He initially committed to USC but signed with Saint Mary’s when head coach Andy Enfield left the Trojans for SMU.
Following a redshirt year, Campbell averaged 15 minutes off the bench last season and tallied 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds on 52 percent shooting from three-point range. The lights-out shooter would be a perfect fit with the Broncos.
Point guard Colby Garland (San Jose State)
Garland is a classic modern mercenary who is searching for his fourth school in four years.
The 6-foot guard broke out last year for San Jose State, averaging 20.3 points, 4.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc.
The Broncos have a clear need at point guard, and Garland would be a home-run get for Rice and staff. But Garland, who is rated a four-star portal prospect and the No. 27 overall transfer by 247Sports, would be an expensive player to land.
Shooting guard Isiah Harwell (Houston)
A former five-star prospect, Harwell is a Pocatello, Idaho native who spent three years at Utah’s Wasatch Academy and was rated the nation’s No. 13 overall player in the 247Sports class of 2025 composite rankings.
The 6-foot-6 Harwell averaged 3.6 points and two rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench in his lone season with the Cougars.
Malek Harwell, Isiah’s older brother, played at Boise State under Rice from 2016-19.
Isiah Harwell, who is rated the No. 45 portal prospect by 247Sports, would be a game-changing two-way player for the Broncos.
Forward Johan Munch (Oregon State)
The 6-foot-11 Munch started 23 games for the Beavers as a sophomore last season and averaged 7.9 points and 5.1 rebounds. The Copenhagen, Denmark native ranked fifth in the West Coast Conference in rebounding percentage.
The Broncos have massive holes to fill in the front court with the loss of Drew Fielder, and Munch could be a budget option with less three-point range while offering more rebounding and defensive versatility.
