AP Top 25 Released: BC Not Ranked, Three Opponents Make Top 25

Today the first AP Poll of the 2019 season was released, and with little surprise the Boston College Eagles did not crack the list. Most outlets have predicted that the Eagles would fall anywhere between 5-7 and 7-5, and Vegas has them smack dab in the middle at 6-6, so having them not get votes shouldn't be shocking.
Three opponents on the Boston College schedule however did crack the list. The defending National Champions, Clemson Tigers topped the rankings, just ahead of the team they beat in the title game the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, also a National Playoff team from 2018-19, is in at #9, while Boston College rival Syracuse just made the list at #22.
Only one other team on BC's schedule got votes, and that is their first opponent the Virginia Tech Hokies. If Boston College wants to start gaining national attention, a win on 8/31 would be a huge step in the right direction.
