Boston College Football Recruiting: 2020 DB Denzel Blackwell Commits To Eagles
Boston College Football exited the college football recruiting dead period with a commitment, as they have apparently landed Texas defensive back Denzel Blackwell. Per his Twitter account:

Blackwell is a 5'11 170 pound cornerback out of Strake Jesuit in Houston Texas. He recently had camped at Boston College, and apparently the coaches had liked what they saw. Given BC's track record in evaluating defensive backs, this is a great sign that Blackwell will fit in well at the Heights.
The 2020 recruit is considered a 3* recruit by all the recruiting services (Rivals, 247 etc) and currently holds claimed offers from Baylor, Dartmouth, Houston-Baptist, Louisiana-Monroe, and Temple. According to the recruits HUDL page he runs a 4.54, a solid time coming out of high school.
Restocking the defensive back position has to be a key for this upcoming class, after BC recently lost almost their entire starting defensive backfield. While there are players ready to step in, you want to make sure the ranks are not depleted. Blackwell is the second defensive back joining Jason Scott out of Maryland.
